Tottenham are set to offer club captain and top goalscorer Harry Kane a club record £400,000 per-week to secure his stay at the Spurs.
Despite a long-standing aim to become the Premier League's top goal-scorer of all time, Kane is seen to not be against a move to Bundesliga after a rumored meeting with the German manager Thomas Tuchel in the former's house in London. The 29-year-old's current stats include 213 goals in the Premier League, and the record needed to break equals to 260, held by Alan Shearer.
"What I know right now is that Harry is part of this squad and he’s looking forward to coming back to training and being amongst these players and starting to work together," said the new Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou to addressing speculations on the Englishman's exit.
The club chairman Daniel Levy remains optimistic about retaining Harry Kane and believes that offering him an enhanced contract could persuade him to stay. Currently, there are no indications that Kane is inclined to sign a new deal with Spurs. However, the club is prepared to offer him a substantial weekly wage of £400,000 if he decides to alter his position and remain with the team, according to the Telegraph.
Previously considered irreplaceable, Kane's value has seemingly evolved, and if a suitable offer materializes, Spurs might be tempted to sell him rather than risk losing him on a free transfer in a year's time.
