Chris Sutton has delivered his prediction for the Premier League match between Aston Villa and Arsenal, which will take place on December 9.
The Gunners enter the match riding a wave of success, having secured four consecutive victories since a narrow 1-0 defeat to Newcastle. Mikel Arteta's side now find themselves perched atop the league after 15 matches, eager to challenge the three-time defending champions, Manchester City, for supremacy.
On the other hand, Villa poses a formidable challenge, boasting a flawless record in home matches. Currently matched only by Liverpool and Newcastle in terms of points earned on home turf, Unai Emery's side will be determined to disrupt Arsenal's winning streak and make a statement in their pursuit of a higher standing in the Premier League.
Notably, the ground owners' recent impressive win over Pep Guardiola's City, lifting them above the Cityzens in the Premier League, marks a high point in Unai Emery's leadership.
Looking ahead to the exciting meeting at Villa Park this evening, Sutton has shared his score prediction via BBC.
"Aston Villa were brilliant against Manchester City and their home record is phenomenal with 14 wins in a row since their last defeat in the league at Villa Park.
"That came against the Gunners in February, who trailed twice but won 4-2 in dramatic style thanks to two stoppage-time goals.
"I don't see this game being anywhere near as open, although I do think it will be close.
"Arsenal have shown their resilience in recent weeks and, the way they are playing at the moment, I just don't see them being beaten"
Chris Sutton's prediction: 1-1
