Chelsea have identified Lyon star Rayan Cherki as Christian Pulisic's replacement at the club, according to sources close to ESPN.
Although the USMNT captain's move to AC Milan has not been officially announced yet, a video of him greeting the Italian club fans from Milan (city) was made public yesterday. Pulisic is just one of the fifteen Blues who has departed Stamford Bridge this summer, as the club tries to be in line with Financial Fair Play boundaries.
According to the American outlet, meeting the standards of Financial Fair Play is also an underlying reason for Lyon to consider selling their skilled youngster. As for now, clubs have not had direct talks regarding a deal, but the Ligue 1 side is resistant to losing their young talent and would ask at least £50m. Yet, it is seen that Cherki is interested in a move to West London.
Having evolved through Lyon's youth system, Cherki netted four goals and provided six assists in Ligue 1 during the previous season. He emerged as one of France's most impressive players during the Under-21 European Championship held this summer.
