Ben Chilwell breaks silence following red card in Real Madrid defeat

Ben Chilwell has taken to Instagram to send a message following his red card against Real Madrid on Wednesday.

Chelsea suffered a 2-0 defeat against La Liga side in Champions League quarter-finals first leg game as Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio scored.

Chilwell was shown a straight red card on 59th minute after pulling back Rodrygo on his shoulder. 

"Slept on it, and just want to apologise to my team mates and the fans," wrote Chilwell on Instagram. 

"I made a decision in a split second last night and it was a mistake. I always give everything for the team and i will continue to do so. Thank you for the support."
