Real Madrid starlet Jude Bellingham reflected on the clash with Manchester United star Lisandro Martinez following the latter's disruptive tackle in the friendly match.
Bellingham scored his first goal for Real Madrid on July 27, earning him the "Man of the Match" title. The Englishman, in his second match for the Spanish Champions, executed a skillful lob in the sixth minute, defeating United's new goalkeeper Andre Onana.
In a post-match interview, the 20-year-old, calling Martinez a "brilliant player" addressed the frustration that occurred between the two. While admitting that the Brazillian's tackle made him frustrated, the young midfielder says that after swearing off in the dressing room, he called down.
"What goes on the pitch stays on the pitch", said the ex-Dortmund star and added that he earned respect for Lisandro in addition to wishing him all the best once the game was over.
In the aftermath of the clash, this is what Bellingham appreciated the most: "When two players are trying to win for their team and can together and be respectful after the game".
