Atalanta revealed their asking price for skilled striker Rasmus Hojlund to be £86M amid interest from Manchester United.
According to The Mail, the 20-year-old himself is keen on joining United as believes he can thrive under the guidance of Erik ten Hag. Although the Italian club would find it hard to resist the financial power of a leading Premier League team, they plan to demand a transfer fee that would break their previous record for Hojlund. Interestingly, the young forward shares the same agency, SEM, as Ten Hag, which could potentially give Manchester United an advantage during negotiations.
Previously it was expected that the Red Devils' valuation of the Danish youngster would be around €60 million. The young Denmark international has a tally of 16 goals and 7 assists across all tournaments for the Serie A club.
As Erik ten Hag looks to acquire a top-class striker, the club has been looking at other options, including Tottenham's captain Harry Kane and the in-demand Napoli striker Victor Oshimen. While Hojlund, doesn't possess the same amount of experience, his performance is a testament of a strong potential that can be developed into something greater.
