Arsenal provided update on Qatari takeover after Josh Kroenke breaks silence on Gunners future

Arsenal have been in the centre of takeover talk with Daniel Ek, CEO of Spotify, having multiple public bids rejected by owner Stan Kroenke. Josh Kroenke, Stan’s son, has become the face of the KSE ownership and has also faced pressure from public figures of the Qatari state. Some have used social media to hype up the possibility of a takeover from a multi-billion-pound consortium. And Qatari football expert Mitch Feeley outright claimed that this was all just a social media ploy describing it as very much ‘for show.’ However, sports journalist Ben Jacobs, who has worked for many years in the region, outlined several reasons why a Qatari takeover of Arsenal would be very unlikely to happen with the primary explanation outlined below.
"The main reason a Qatari takeover of Arsenal won't happen is there is no substance to the talk beyond a glib tweet from Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani," explained Jacobs.   "He does have royal links, and is the former president of Al Arabi, so there is some football pedigree there, too.   "Yet he has nowhere near the personal wealth to buy Arsenal. Any takeover would also go through Qatar Sports Investments and if Al Thani knew of, or was part of, such a bid he wouldn't be tweeting cryptic clues. QSI are very secretive and rarely allude to investments until they are 100 percent done."
But the recent interview Josh Kroenke conducted with Sky Sports revealed some interesting insight into possible takeover bids. Asked about Ek’s proposed bid, Josh revealed that they had received interest from far beyond just the Swedish billionaire.
"We get bids for the club all the time, from many different parties around the world and that speaks to the strength of the Arsenal," he said.   "It’s a wonderful institution, Arsenal Football Club is a global brand and my only response to anything is the club is not for sale, we’re just getting started.   "We’ve only really owned the club since 2018. We have a young manager; we have a young squad and we’re charting our path to the future."
