Arsenal in race with Liverpool and Manchester United for £50m rated Premier League ace

Arsenal and Liverpool have shown interest in acquiring Brentford defender Aaron Hickey ahead of the January transfer window.

According to a report from The Mirror (via HITC), Aaron Hickey has become a sought-after player, with Arsenal, Manchester United, and Liverpool expressing interest.

Hickey has had an intriguing career, transitioning from Heart of Midlothian to Celtic and later returning to Hearts during his youth. He made a strong impression in the Hearts first team and secured a surprising move to Italy with Bologna in 2020. His impressive performances in Italy led to Brentford signing him for £14 million last summer, bringing him back to the UK.

Hickey started in 23 matches last season and has been a regular starter in all six of Brentford's Premier League fixtures this season. The 21-year-old has evidently attracted the attention of top Premier League clubs ahead of January.

Brentford are placing a hefty price tag on Hickey, reportedly seeking £50 million, partly due to Rico Henry's season-ending injury. Despite being right-footed, Hickey is highly proficient on the left side and is expected to play a crucial role in the future.
