Roy Keane has expressed the view that Arsenal has the potential to secure the Premier League title following their victory over Manchester City on Sunday. However, he has emphasized a critical area where they need to bolster their team if they aim to achieve this goal.
Despite Mikel Arteta making substantial reinforcements to the Arsenal squad during the summer, Keane is of the opinion that they require a proficient goal scorer to enhance their prospects of contending for the title.
In the current season, Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus have been the primary forwards for the Gunners, but their combined tally of just three league goals in eight games falls short of what the former Manchester United captain considers necessary.
“Arsenal can win the league, but they would need that striker," Keane said on the Stick to Football podcast, via FourFourTwo.
"It’s great when you’re watching a team that can play, that is good in possession, but also physically strong. We’ve seen [Manchester] City over the last few years, they’ve got bigger – obviously set pieces are huge.
