Eddie Howe says Newcastle United star is doubtful to feature vs Bournemouth

Eddie Howe has provided an update on Allan Saint-Maximin's fitness ahead of Newcastle United's EFL Cup game against Bournemouth. 

The Magpies are set to the rivals in the Round of 16 of the competition on 20 December 2022. The club will be back in action following the World Cup international break.

Prior to the game, Howe has met the media to provide the latest news. The manager is still unsure whether Saint-Maximin will be available for Tuesday's meeting. 

"I think there's a slight injury," the manager said, via Chronicle Live.

"We'll see today how he comes in. After a game things can be sore so hopefully that's just the case."
