Eddie Hearn plays down chances of Dillian Whyte fighting on Joshua VS Ruiz II undercard

Eddie Hearn has moved to play down the likelihood of Dillian Whyte being on the undercard of Anthony Joshua’s rematch with Andy Ruiz Jr. Hearn wants to get the “Bodysnatcher” back in the ring before the end of 2019 and suggested he could fight in Saudi Arabia on the Joshua-Ruiz II undercard. “I don’t think he’ll be returning in Diriyah, but I don’t think we are too far away from getting some kind of position,” the Matchroom promoter told Boxing Social. ‘I still feel like the UKAD [UK Anti-Doping] stuff has got to be announced, cleared, but ultimately he’s clear to fight, he could fight tomorrow. “But obviously people do want some kind of closure to that situation, so that’s what we’re working towards now. ‘At the moment he hasn’t been punished, he hasn’t been banned, he hasn’t been suspended. So right now there’s no reason to take his interim status away. But let’s get that final clarification out and move forward.”
