Dynamo Kyiv manager Mircea Lucescu has confirmed that Vitaliy Mykolenko will be on his way to Everton in the January transfer window.
The Ukraine international has been linked with the move to the Premier League side as
Sky Sports reported about Rafael Benitez's interest in the defender. The latter is rated at £20 million.
Speaking about the 22-year-old's possible exit, Lucescu said (via
TBRFootball):
“Mykolenko is going to Everton. He will be the first big transfer out of Dynamo since (Andriy) Yarmolenko.
“He’s a young player and he should be an example to others. It’s very important to allow players to fulfill their potential and give them chances to fulfill them.”
Everton played a 1 - 1 draw with Chelsea on Tuesday, which was a positive result for the Toffees, however, they still need to have more successful games in order to finish in a favorable position in the Premier League.
