Details revealed of Heung-Min Son deal struck between Tottenham and South Korean FA

Tottenham Hotspur and The South Korean FA stuck a deal over Heung-Min Son’s participation in the upcoming Asian Games in Indonesia. Asian Games is not an official FIFA event so Tottenham had no obligation to let him take part. Son will miss his side’s first group match on August 12, arriving the day after, with the football national team section of the games lasting until September 1. Officials at the South Korean FA have announced Spurs agreed to release Son for the matches in Indonesia on the condition that he will not play in the two international friendlies in November and also the first two group games at the 2019 Asian Cup in January. Spurs first offered to release Son after their second Premier League tie against Fulham on August 18, which would have ruled Son out of the group stages of the Asian Cup. The deal was then struck to allow Son to leave early and miss those later matches in the year.
