Arsenal’s first summer signing became Stephan Lichtsteiner, who joined the club on a free transfer from Juventus.
Emery believes the former Juventus man will bring experience to the north London and influence on their game.
He said: “Stephan brings huge experience and leadership to our squad. He’s a player with great quality with a very positive and determined attitude. Stephan will improve us on and off the pitch.”
So, who will follow the first summer signing? Let’s have a look.
Goalkeeper
Bayern Leverkusen keeper Bernd Leno, Emery’s former keeper Sergio Rico and England Jack Butland are among top options to replace Petr Cech, though new keeper’s signing isn’t a priority.
Defenders
Lichtsteiner will not be the only new defender for Arsenal as the club needs at least one further signing with Borussia Dortmund defender Sokratis remaining the most possible option with a three-year deal. According to reports, the 29-year-old has traveled to England to undergo medical and the deal could be announced soon.
Midfielders
Arsenal are looking to strengthen their midfield as well, however, Maroune Fellaini will hardly move to the Emirates amid links as he is not on Arsenal’s agenda this summer.
Attackers
Attacking addition also can’t be ruled out though Arsenal are in need of defenders and midfielders.
Sven Mislintat is exploring the possibility of potentially bringing in Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona on loan, but a deal remains unlikely.
There’s a strong interest in Yacine Adli, who is set to leave Paris Saint-Germain after rejecting a professional contract offer from the Ligue 1 champions.
