Dean Henderson sets Manchester United contract demand

Sheffield United loanee Dean Henderson wants assurances that he will be Manchester United's No.1 before signing any new contract, claims the Manchester Evening News. The goalkeeper is attracting plenty of interest at present, meaning he has some big decisions to make on his future. United are prepared to offer Henderson an improved contract but the goalkeeper is only prepared to commit if he is promised the number one spot. Chelsea are among the clubs interested in Henderson, who is contracted to United until 2022. Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho is also an admirer of Henderson from his time managing him at United. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already insisted Henderson will become the United number one but the club finalised a four-year deal with David de Gea in September. De Gea is under mounting pressure after another error allowed Steven Bergwijn to put Tottenham ahead in United's Friday night draw and his form has been problematic for upwards of a year.
