Darren Cahill declined to coach Roger Federer

Darren Cahill, who worked with Lleyton Hewitt, Andre Agassi, Andy Murray, Ana Ivanovic, Fernando Verdasco, Daniela Hantuchova and Sorana Cirstea, revealed he was about to become Roger Federer’s new coach during the Indian Wells in March 2019, however, changed his mind. “Darren is an amazing man, he has a fantastic personality, and it would have been a true gift for Roger. But he did not want to travel so much, he has a young family and he wants to stay close to them,” said Tony Godsick, Federer's longtime agent. Cahill recently took a break from coaching responsibilities to be with his family.
