Daren Bent thinks reported transfer sends negative message to Liverpool academy players

Darren Bent has revealed the signing of Ben Davies would send a negative message to Liverpool youngsters. According to Sky Sports, the Reds have targeted the defender from Preston North End and are set to complete his transfer today. However, Bent is not convinced that it's the right decision for the club. “If they go and sign Ben Davies for £2 million, it looks like, what does that say?" he said on talkSPORT. "Is there no other kids coming through then? Is there no one else there they want take another chance on? I am not quite sure what kind of message that sends out to them.”
