Cristiano Ronaldo sends strong message to Manchester United teammates over Ralf Rangnick

Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed that interim manager of Manchester United Ralf Rangnick needs more time to turn the club’s fortunes around with player mentalities tough to change. Rangnick was confirmed as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s successor in November, however, United have continued to toil much as they did under his predecessor and are currently seventh in the Premier League table. But Ronaldo has backed United's interim boss and insisted the 63-year-old just needs more time to produce the style of play and consistent results the club are desperate for.
“He arrived here five weeks ago, he changed many things but he needs time," Ronaldo told Sky Sports. “I believe that he’s going to do a good job, we know we don’t play the best football, but we have many games to improve.   “Since he arrived in some points we are better, it’s not easy to change the mentality of players and the way they play the system and the culture like that. I believe that he will do a good job.”
The Portuguese superstar also called on his teammates to rally around each other during what’s been a tumultuous season, insisting that through their unity they can still enjoy success this term.
He added: “We have to be together. We are in the same boat and we knew from the beginning that it wouldn’t be easy. New year we have to believe it is possible, but we have a lot to change, but I believe we will have a good season.   “Its difficult to be honest when you change too much, it’s always tough but I still believe that we are capable of having a good season.   “We have to be professional, we have to work hard, we have to work together as players to change the page. We know we are not in the best moment, but I believe that if we work hard we can achieve important things this year.”
