A tense night at Stadio Olimpico saw the victory of Lazio over Roma, as they clashed in the first leg of Copa Italia semi-finals.
Luciano Spalletti’s side had more possession in the first half, however, The Wolves failed to score and conceded a goal in the 29th minute. the Serbia international Milinkovic-Savic put The Eagles in front.
Most of the second half went under Lazio’s domination. Simone Inzhaghi’s men were dangerous out wide with Jordan Lukaku and Dusan Basta constantly testing Roma’s defence. Lazio scored the second goal when Roma failed to stop a textbook counterattack. Lazio Striker Ciro Immobile tapped in a precise Keita pass to double the home side’s advantage. Roma had a chance to bring one back when Salah had a decent strike on goal, but was denied by the post.
Match result: Lazio 2 – 0 Roma
The second leg of Coppa Italia is scheduled for the 5th of April. Napoli will host Juventus and Lazio will enter Stadio Olimpico as guests to face Roma.
