Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum has reportedly agreed a contract with Barcelona, according to
Sport.
The 29-year-old has been targeted by the Catalan giants for the summer transfer window, with the club new boss Ronald Koeman eager to improve the squad. And the report claims the Dutch international is close to making a move to Camp Nou after entering advanced talks over a transfer away from Anfield.
Wijnaldum has played a key role in Jurgen Klopp's squad and the Reds would need to find a replacement after his departure. The club has been heavily linked with Bayern Munich's Thiago Alcantara, though the two sides haven't still agreed on transfer fee for the player.
The Spanish international can be an ideal replacement for Wijnaldum, with the midfielder giving a balance to the squad for the next season.
