Christian Eriksen criticized by Lothar Matthäus

Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen has been criticized by German football legend Lothar Matthaus, who has claimed that if Eriksen is “not good enough” for Spurs, he is not good enough for Bayern Munich, reports Sport1. The 27-year-old’s contract expires next summer, as he failed to agree to a new contract with Tottenham. But Eriksen might leave the club during this January transfer window and Bayern Munich could be one of his possible destinations. However, Bayern legend and current pundit Lothar Matthaus doesn’t seem to want to see the Danish international in Bundesliga champions’ side. "I’ve been following the player for a long time and so far in 2019 he has disappointed me," he said. "A transfer to FC Bayern wouldn’t make sense in my view, and would be very surprising. If he’s not enough for Tottenham, he’s not good enough for Bayern. Uli Hoeness has also said before that Bayern doesn’t need any substitutes. Eriksen is a fine technician, a typical No 10. But he's too slow, and Niko Kovac likes fast players.'' Eriksen has scored one goal and assisted once so far this season.
