Chelsea V Fulham : Preview and Possible XI

Premier League: Matchweek 14
  • Venue: Stamford Bridge
  • Date: Sunday, December 2
  • Kick-off time: 1:00 PM
Maurizio Sarri will get his first taste of a west London derby on Sunday as Chelsea welcome Claudio Ranieri back to the Bridge as the new Fulham manager. Chelsea are bidding to bounce back after suffering a first Premier League defeat of the season at Tottenham Hotspur. Fulham are seeking to extend their revival under new manager Claudio Ranieri, having beaten Southampton last time ou TEAM: Eden Hazard will face a late fitness test after twisting his ankle in last weekend's defeat to Tottenham, while Ethan Ampadu has returned to full training following his own injury lay-off. Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Kevin McDonald are both unlikely to be fit, although Joe Bryan ended his seven-week injury absence by returning to the bench against Southampton last time out. FACTS: Chelsea have only lost one of their 26 PL matches against Fulham, back in March 2006. No side have had more different PL goalscorers this season than Chelsea's 11, while Fulham's four is the fewest. If Fulham's Andre Schurrle gets a goal in this match he’ll be the fourth player to have scored for and against Chelsea in a PL London derby, after Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, William Gallas and Cesc Fabregas. Claudio Ranieri could become the first former Chelsea manager to win on his return to Stamford Bridge in 14 PL matches. POSSIBLE LINE-UP: Chelsea: Kepa; Azpilicueta, Luiz, Rudiger, Alonso; Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic; Willian, Morata, Hazard. Fulham: Sergio Rico; Christie, Odoi, Mawson, Le Marchand; Chambers, Seri; Sessegnon, Cairney, Schurrle; Mitrovic
  • Referee: Craig Pawson
  • Assistants: Ian Hussin, Richard West
  • Fourth official: David Coote
