Chelsea starlet Billy Gilmour was one of the reasons of club’s transfer ban

Chelsea’s transfer conduct involving starlet Billy Gilmour was one of the two examples of third party ownership that lead the club being handed a two-window transfer ban by FIFA. Gilmour officially joined Chelsea in August 2017 from Scottish side Rangers. However, FIFA found that the clubs entered a third party agreement in May 2017. Chelsea told Rangers not to sell or loan Gilmour to any other club in the deal. The agreement also said that Gilmour could train or play for Chelsea at any point. It has emerged that Gilmour was one of two players who FIFA determined were controlled by Chelsea while still on the books at other clubs. Rangers were fined £7,800 for their part in the Gilmour agreement. Chelsea had made a similar arrangement with Ajax over Juan Carlos Familia Castillo. Source- Daily Mail
