Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich makes Frank Lampard demand after Kai Havertz nears move

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has reportedly told Frank Lampard that he is expecting the club to seriously challenge for the Premier League title next season. That's because he is being heavily backed in the summer transfer market, according to Football Insider. Over £80million has already been spent on signing Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner. Chelsea are also in talks with Bayer Leverkusen as they edge closer to completing a deal for Kai Havertz. Once Havertz completes his move to Stamford Bridge, the Blues will attempt to shore up their defence. A new goalkeeper, centre-half and left-back are all on Lampard's summer shopping list. Football Insider claims the Russian billionaire has warned Lampard that the club must be challenging for the Premier League title next season. Chelsea's points total of 66 was closer to relegated Bournemouth and Watford than it was to the top of the table. Source: Express
