Chelsea looking at January deal for forward as they try to clarify release clause
Chelsea have reportedly made enquiries as to whether Timo Werner has a release clause which could be activated in January.
Frank Lampard admitted to talkSPORT he plans to strengthen his squad when the transfer window reopens.
Werner is on the list of transfer targets for the Blues.
According to The Telegraph, there has however been confusion over a supposed release clause in Werner’s contract, with various figures quoted which put it anywhere between £25million and £51m.
Chelsea are now said to be attempting to clarify exactly how much the clause is and when it can be activated as they eye a potential January move for the 23-year-old.
