Chelsea agree fee to sign €23.4m defender

Chelsea have reportedly agreed on a fee to recruit Fenerbahce’s defender Attila Szalai. The Blues are in a chase for a defender with Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen's situations are still uncertain. According to Turkish news outlet CNN Turk, Thomas Tuchel's side have reached an agreement with Fenerbahce over the transfer of their Hungarian international. Szalai will join the Champions League holders for €23.4m on a six-year deal, earning €4m per year. The 23-year-old  is a left-footed centre-back, who plays in a back three for both club and country. Rudiger is also left-footed, but both cub and the defender's representatives are yet to agree on a contract, which expires next summer.
