Changes Mauricio Pochettino should make in January to bring Tottenham back on track

Tottenham had such a disappointing start to the season winning only 2 clashes out of eight. After reaching to Champions League final last season and welcoming Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon, Spurs were expected to deliver great performance but failed. So Mauricio Pochettino has no choice but to change his squad during January transfer window. Spurs’ last match was upsetting as well as they were beaten 4-3 on penalties by League Two club Colchester United. After that Mauricio Pochettino stated that they need time and will make changes during the January transfer window. "We are working so hard to try and put on the same page," he said. "We need time, we are going to have time to fix that. January is going to be a good opportunity to try and fix this type of situation and sort it. Then the next transfer window, again. That’s the problem when something happens and you cannot control – this type of situation can arrive. To keep a successful period in football you need to be different every single season and act differently and find a different solution. Maybe we need to do something different and we are trying to find the way to start to perform and get the results we expect." January’s maybe not the most perfect time for new signings as newcomers have so little time to get adapted but Pochettino is going to make changes to his team in order to avoid failures. What could Tottenham look like after Pochettino’s rebuild Football.London has predicted what Spurs team will look like after January transfer window. The club missed out Paulo Dybala’s transfer this summer so most likely they would try to get him in January as he struggles to get included in the Juventus team. If the contract situations with Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Christian Eriksen stay the same then they could be out of the starting lineup. Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon could be in the lineup as well once they are back to team training. Express.co.uk also reflected on this topic noting three players Spurs should sign: Callum Wilson, Ricardo Pereira and Sandro Tonali. Wilson who currently plays at Bournemouth has a similar style to Tottenham and could be a perfect replacement for Harry Kane when he is out of injury.  But Wilson could also play alongside Kane to take the pressure off of his shoulders. Pereira was a big revelation in the Premier League since he came to Leicester City from Porto in 2018. He could replace Kieran Trippier who went to Atletico Madrid this summer. Italian Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali could solve Spurs’ problems in central midfield where they lack of quality and need a back-up. Victor Wanyama and Eric Dier aren’t the best replacements for recently-signed Tanguy Ndombele and Tonali could be the ideal type of person to sit on the bench and wait for his chance. Changes for Tottenham are inevitable and the January transfer window is a great opportunity to completely rebuild the team and continue the season with big potential.
