UEFA have completed their plans to change the Champions League format, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. They hope to introduce the new format from 2024. It will consist of 36 teams in a single league table. Every side will play 10 games before the first knockout round instead of the current six. All 55 member federations will get a first look at the bids on Tuesday and it's expected there should be no problems approving the new format at UEFA's executive committee meeting in April. If Celtic and Rangers can keep up their progress in overhauling Scotland's co-efficient there is a chance both sides could play in the revamped format at the same time when it comes into play. Two Champions League spots are available for next season.
