Brendan Rodgers makes Champions League demand amid coronavirus saga

Brendan Rodgers thinks their run for the Champions League spot should be completed if possible.  The Premier League has been suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak. It would be cruel on the Foxes should the competition not be completed, as they are sitting on the 3rd place of the league table, on the way to Champions League next season qualification.  Speaking on the case, Rodgers has shared his thoughts.  He said: “For supporters, they’ve been on this great journey and we want to finish it for them. But while our preference would be to finish it off, we’re all guided from a health perspective. It is hard because football is so much a part of their life, football. There are thousands of supporters that travel around. We know it won’t go on forever, we’ll be back at some point. We miss the connection with the supporters, we miss doing our job, but it’s important to stay healthy.” On playing the football games without supporters, the club boss added: “Ultimately, without the supporters there, it’s not the same. As coaches we will have played games behind closed doors but you train and work hard so that you give the supporters the best performance. Football is about players and supporters. Without one or the other, it wouldn’t be the same. There’s lots to consider about how this may end up. But we would want fans to be there.”
