BREAKING: Bulgaria football president resigns after the last night’s racism chants

Bulgarian Football Union president Borislav Mihaylov has resigned after England’s 6 - 0 win over Bulgaria for the Euro 2020 qualifiers last night. England’s black players were racially abused by Bulgarian fans, which led the referee to stop the game twice in the first half. After the incident Mihaylov got a call from Bulgaria's Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, threatening him to stop their financial support if he doesn’t resign. BFU has already released a statement confirming that Mihaylov has stepped down. According to Sportal.bg, the statement read: "After many years spent in the post and with his many contacts at a high international level, Mr. Mihailov expresses his firm readiness to continue to help the development of Bulgarian football in every way possible." Before the last night’s clash, Mihaylov wrote to UEFA, rejecting the English player’s potential racist abuse during the match and calling it an "unjust branding" of Bulgarian fans.
