"Better than a new signing"- Liverpool fans react to Harvey Elliot first professional contract

Liverpool fans have been reacting to the news over Harvey Elliott being handed his first professional contract at the Anfield. According to the Athletic's James Pearce, the 17-year-old forward has been rewarded for his impressive work with the Reds so far and will sign a three-year deal at the start of July. The Merseyside club signed Elliott previous summer from Fulham and he quickly made a name for himself amongst the team. The teenager also made Premier League history after becoming the youngest ever player to feature in a top flight match, aged 16 years and 30 days (via BBC Sport). Elliott has netted twice and provided four assists in 12 youth appearances this season and also featured in three FA Cup games, one being against rivals Everton. Liverpool faithful were delighted to learn the news and took to Twitter to express their thoughts. Here is what they had to say:

Looks like real prospect - shows flashes of brilliance and there's an expectation for something special when he's on the ball. Should see some game time this season after the title is done and dusted. Exciting times.
