Barcelona need Manchester United help to complete Neymar transfer from PSG

Barcelona will need Manchester United help if they want to resign Neymar from PSG. The Catalan giants will reportedly not be able to sign their former player until selling the Red Devils target Antoine Griezmann. Quique Setien's side have signed the Frenchman for a £107million transfer fee last summer. However, the player flopped since moving to the Camp Nou, having scored just 8 La Liga goals with the club during the season. United attempted to sign the Frenchman back in 2017, later losing their interest in the striker when Barcelona have targeted him. Now Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are keen on bringing Griezmann to Old Trafford as Romelu Lukaku's replacement. Barcelona are looking for selling the forward for around £93m this summer, according to Spanish outlet Ok Diario. They will need to sell him in order to comply with Financial Fair Play, should they sign Neymar, who joined PSG for a world record £198m three years ago. Recently Lionel Messi has called for his club to pull out all the stops to ensure Neymar returns.
He said: "The truth is I would have loved him to come back to us. I understand some people were against it and that’s normal considering everything that happened and how he left us, but thinking about it on a sporting level, for me Neymar is one of the best players in the world. Obviously he would have increased our chances of getting the results that we all want. The club would have taken a leap forward, in terms of sponsors, our image, our growth, but in the end it didn’t happen. I don’t know what happened with the directors, I know they were speaking with Neymar, he told me how things were going. He was really looking forward to coming back. I understand it’s difficult to negotiate with PSG and with Neymar because he’s one of the best. These negotiations are never easy."
