Atletico Madrid midfielder Tiago has revealed that he turned down three offers from elsewhere after coach Diego Simeone told him to stay at the club.
Recent reports from Spain claimed that the Portuguese midfielder, who is out of contract at the end of the season, was contemplating leaving the club to head to China.
The 35-year-old held a press conference to discuss the speculation and revealed that Simeone asked him to stay put at the Vicente Calderon.
He said: “Simeone told me to stay, that I am needed at Atleti. I had three offers from three countries. I am available to the club. I will stay until the end of the season. If they ask me to leave I will accept it and I will go.”
