Aston Villa make bid for Leicester City striker

Aston Villa have reportedly made a bid to sign Leicester City striker Islam Slimani. Villa apparently want to take the 31-year-old on loan for the rest of the season. Slimani is currently on loan at French club Monaco, where he has scored 7 goals in 13 Ligue 1 appearances to date. However, it has been suggested that the Algerian international would be open to a Premier League return. According to Le10Sport Villa have now tabled a loan offer for Slimani. The Express adds that the forward would have to return to Leicester before a deal is agreed between the two Premier League clubs. Villa are willing to add to their attacking options during the January transfer window after Wesley Moraes was ruled out for the season due to injury. Dean Smith's side have also been linked with the likes of Christian Benteke, Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi. Source- Leicestershire Live
