Aston Villa and Leicester City team news ahead of Carabao Cup semi-final

Aston Villa and Leicester City are set to play in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg on Tuesday at the Villa Park. The Foxes were handed a fitness boost ahead of the clash, as topscorer Jamie Vardy may return to action after being limped out of last week's Premier League win over West Ham United due to twinge in his glute. Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers also confirmed that Wilfred Ndidi is fit to start as he continues his recovery from knee surgery. Unfortunately, midfielder Nampalys Mendy (knee) and defender Wes Morgan (illness) will not be ready for the clash. As for Aston Villa, £8.5m striker Mbwana Samatta could make his debut after his move from Genk. Keinan Davis also returns to the squad after being three months sidelined due to a hamstring injury. Former Foxes man Danny Drinkwater, another January transfer window arrival, is not fit to face his old club after playing earlier for Burnley. Meantime, striker Wesley (knee), midfielder John McGinn (fractured ankle) and goalkeepers Tom Heaton (knee) and Jed Steer (calf) are also ruled out. Source- Leicestershire Live
