Ashley Young explains his Machester United goal celebration in win over Crystal Palace

Ashley Young’s goal confirmed all three points for Manchester United in their 3-1 win over Crystal Palace on Wednesday night. After scoring a goal, Ashley Young instantly turned around and sprinted to the Manchester United fans who had travelled to Selhurst Park. Speaking to MUTV after the game, Young explained why the United players were so keen on including the fans in the celebration. "I keep saying a week in, week out they've [the fans] been fantastic home and away. Again [tonight] they were brilliant from the warm-up right up until after the game," said Young. "I think that showed in the celebrations, every player is thankful for them. Obviously travelling down midweek is not easy, it's tough. Luckily for us, we've been able to put on a performance for them to be able to go home smiling." On his goal, he added: "I saw space open up and I was just waiting for Paul to pass it. I didn't know whether to take it the first time or take a touch. "I took the touch and after that, it was just head over the ball, hope for it to end up in the back of the net. Thankfully it did and that was it, the game was over after that."
