Arsenal’s Europa League clash against Vorskla set to go ahead despite tensions in Ukraine.
Ukraine’s parliament imposed martial law in part of the country after Russia captured three of its naval vessels and 23 crew members on Sunday.
However, UEFA have confirmed the match will go ahead as normal.
In a statement, Uefa said: "We confirm that the match will be played as scheduled.
"As is the case for all UEFA competition matches, all the necessary security measures will be undertaken. Events in Ukraine are fast moving. You should remain vigilant throughout Ukraine, monitor the media and this travel advice regularly. Be aware of the current political situation (in particular the tension between Ukraine and Russia) and avoid any action or chanting that could provoke a hostile reaction from home fans.”
Up to 500 Arsenal fans are expected to travel to the game. PA Sport understands that Arsenal are keeping in close contact with Uefa, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and the host club.
Arsenal beat Vorskla 4-2 at the Emirates in November. The Gunners will face the Ukrainian outfit in Group E tie on Thursday.
