In this fixture, we will see a mix of under-23 and under-18 players as the first team squad are not due to come back for pre-season training until the week after. However, some of the players will return from their summer holidays for a screening and fitness assessment. Bernd Leno, Emi Martinez, Dejan Iliev, Nacho Monreal, Laurent Koscielny, Shkodran Mustafi, Calum Chambers, Carl Jenkinson, Dinos Mavropanos, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Takuma Asano, Gabriel Martinelli, Emile Smith Rowe will return to training. While Hector Bellerin and Rob Holding are recovering from injuries. Last year, the game was scheduled a week later, newly appointed Unai Emery used his first-team players, and the Gunners beat Boreham Wood with an 8-0 score. In that match, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a hat trick in 17 minutes. In 2017, Arsenal signed a 10-year agreement with Boreham Wood that allows using Meadow Park for Arsenal Youth Development and Arsenal Women matches until the end of the 2026/27 season.
