Arsenal pre-season 2019/2020: What are the key dates for the Gunners in pre-season? 

The 2018/19 season may only have ended one month ago, The 2018/19 season may only have ended one month ago, the Gunners heading to the United States of America this summer, before a home game against Lyon in the Emirates Cup, and trips to France and Spain to face Angers and Barcelona respectively. So what are the key dates for the Gunners in pre-season? The Gunners will start returning to Arsenal's training complex from Friday, July 5. The first team players will not all return at once, with several players involved on international duty this summer. Mohamed Elneny and Alex Iwobi are currently are at the Africa Cup of Nations, and both are likely to return late to pre-season, with the final  of the competition due to be played on July 19. Lucas Torreira is currently involved at the Copa America with Uruguay, meanwhile Reiss Nelson has been away with England's U21 side at the European U21 Championship. The first pre-season friendly is against Boreham Wood on Saturday, July 6. The first friendly for the first team is on Tuesday, July 16 in America against Colorado Rapids, with the Gunners set to travel to the States on Thursday, July 11. While out in America, the Gunners will also play games against Bayern Munich (Thursday, July 18), Fiorentina (Saturday, July 20) and Real Madrid (Wednesday, July 24) in the International Champions Cup, before Unai Emery and his squad return to England. Back in London, an Arsenal XI will face Barnet on Wednesday, July 24 as well, before the Gunners host Lyon at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, July 28. A young Arsenal XI is also set to visit Hitchin Town's Top Field on Saturday, July 27. Two further friendlies will be played in Europe, against Angers in France on Wednesday, July 31 and against Barcelona in Spain on Sunday, August 4, one week before the first game in the Premier League, away against Newcastle United on Sunday, August 11.
