Chelsea defender Terry announced on Sunday that the club he has served for 21 years will surprisingly not be extending his contract when it expires at the end of the season.
Wenger, who signed Chelsea stalwart Petr Cech last year, said: “No he won’t sign, because he is at the end of his career and he has spent his career at Chelsea.
“He was not only a great player, he certainly still is, but he was also a great coach on the pitch. He was a real leader and he had a great career as well, let’s not forget that. That’s never a coincidence. The guys who last such a long time have something special. He was the symbol of cohesion inside Chelsea’s club. When you lose players like that you’re always in danger,” said Wenger.
