Alexandre Lacazette will be available for Arsenal's crucial Europa League last-16 showdown with Rennes on Thursday night as UEFA reduced his three-match ban to two matches.
The France international was due to serve the last game of his ban this week after his red card against BATE Borisov but Arsenal appealed that decision and Lacazette will be available after sitting out the return leg against BATE and the opening-leg clash with Rennes.
The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body said: “The appeal lodged by Arsenal FC has been partially upheld.
“To suspend the Arsenal FC player Alexandre Lacazette for two (2) UEFA competition matches for which he would be otherwise eligible for serious rough play.
"Note: Lacazette has already served the two-match suspension following Arsenal FC’s Uefa Europa League matches - round of 32 second-leg match against BATE Borisov on February 21, and round of 16 first-leg match against Rennes on March 7."
The striker’s return will be a huge boost to manager Unai Emery, after the manager saw his team lose the first leg 3-1 in France.
