Arsenal face concern as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang suffers injury ahead of Manchester City clash.
The club captain sustained a sprained ankle during Sunday's 2-1 Premier League win over Sheffield United. Later he was pulled out of the national team squad against Benin in an international friendly and is expected not to travel to Lisbon for the game on October 11.
As the 31-year-old is now on recovery process, he is doubtful to be fit for the Gunners' match against City at the Etihad Stadium on October 17.
Gabon national team coach Patrice Neveu has confirmed Aubameyang's injury. He revealed that the forward would be out of action for the rest of the week.
“Aubameyang suffers from a small sprained ankle, contracted on Sunday, during the Premier League match against Sheffield," he said.
"The Arsenal doctor sent me a certificate indicating his unavailability. He is in care for a week."
Aubameyang has featured in all four games of Mikel Arteta's side this season, scoring once and providing an assist.
