Arsenal have only £40m to spend if they miss out on Champions League

Unai Emery will be given a budget of just £40m in the summer transfer window if Arsenal fail to qualify for the next season’s Champions League. The Gunners finished fifth in the Premier League and missed out on the chance to qualify from the domestic league, however, they will face Chelsea on May 29 in the Europa League final and the victory will secure a spot for them. According to BBC Sport reporter David Ornstein, Emery will receive a large windfall to strengthen the squad ahead of his second campaign in charge at the Emirates Stadium if Arsenal come out on top in Baku. Arsenal have been linked with Marcos Llorente, Eric Bailly, Nicolas Pepe and Ayoze Perez ahead of the opening of transfer window later this month.
