Anthony Joshua makes admission about Deontay Wilder

Photo/CNN Anthony Joshua has admitted Deontay Wilder did a better job than he did against Dominic Breazeale. Wilder (41-0-1, 40 KOs) added yet another violent finish to his career highlight reel with a brutal one-punch knockout at 2:17 of Round 1 against Dominic Breazeale. Wilder, 33, made the ninth defense of the WBC title he originally captured in 2015. On April 2016, Breazeale became only the second boxer, after Dillian Whyte, to take Joshua past 3 rounds. After a dominant performance, Joshua successfully defended his IBF heavyweight title with a seventh-round knockout win. "Sensational. It was unbelievable, it was that good. Beautiful knockout. Straight down the pipe," Joshua told iFLTV. "I wanted Breazeale to get up because I wanted to see more action but the got the job done as he should. I could've taken him out in the second round, it wasn’t easy, I had him hurt in the second. [But] comparing it, he did a better job, he knocked him out earlier than me so he’s a good fighter, that’s why I want to fight with him." Joshua defends his WBA Super, IBF and WBO titles on his US debut against Andy Ruiz Junior at Madison Square Garden on Saturday. He wants to sit down face to face with Wilder after his fight this weekend. "Saturday night, win and look good," Joshua told Sky Sports . "Straight to Wilder. There's been a lot of interest around the whole fight. The Jarrell Miller situation, the Wilder situation, (Tyson) Fury, Dillian Whyte all these heavyweights. It's my time to shine now, so it's good, I feel the buzz, it's really good. There are steps, without all the hardship I went through. I'd never be at MSG and without the fight Saturday night, going through the tough times, emotions, physical struggle, I'd never get to Wilder. So I've got to get through that and straight on to the big fight. They should sit us down face to face, that would be good. I think they should sit us down face to face and talk about what the issues are man to man and get this fight sorted this year."
