England manager Gareth Southgate has chosen the young Man Utd striker Marcus Rashford over West Ham’s Andy Carroll.
England national team has problems in attack, as Wayne Rooney, Daniel Sturridge and Harry Kane are out due to injury.
Carroll, 28, had a major form boost after Christmas, scoring five goals in eight appearances.
However Gareth Southgate decided to promote Manchester United’s promising young striker Marcus Rashford from the Under-21 team. Rashford played six times for the senior team. He scored on his debut against Australia, then he was subbed on at Euro 2016 against Wales and Iceland, as well as against Malta and Slovenia in World Cup qualifiers last fall.
