Alisson reveals talks with Roberto Firmino before joining Liverpool

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has revealed what he spoke to Roberto Firmino and other Liverpool players before joining the Premier League club from Roma. Alisson has developed into one of the biggest stars at Anfield since he joined the Reds last summer by conceding 19 goals in 32 Premier League matches. The former Roma goalkeeper is now rated as one of the best shot-stoppers in the world and has revealed the advice he received from Firmino and other Liverpool stars "I spoke to Roberto and others before I came here and they told me about the British and that the people are very organised," Alisson told Liverpool’s official website. He told me how things run in the club and that the emphasis is all about football so there were not too many mysteries. It’s a very good life with a very good team. For me it was an important step in my career. We can describe the club as being like a family with some differences as we don’t fight too much – less than a lot of families do and that’s a good thing" Alisson has already kept 17 clean sheets in the league this season and says he is fortunate to play alongside PFA Player of the Year contender Virgil van Dijk. "It is great playing with him and all my team-mates," the Brazil international said. "Van Dijk is a very important player for our team and the way he plays gives consistency for us, defending high balls, corners and set-pieces. I have a big protection in front of me in Virgil and Joel (Matip) and the other defenders like Dejan (Lovren) and the full-backs have been very important too." "Sometimes we take some risks because we are a team that likes to make the build up from behind, starting with the goalkeeper. This makes a difference for our team because when you start from the back with good quality, the ball goes to the front players with better quality and puts the strikers in a better position. I know I have to work hard every day because I am part of a big club which has big plans and big goals. I need to take this responsibility and take care of it."
