Alexis Sanchez injury update after Copa America playoff

Manchester United head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided an update on Alexis Sanchez injury he sustained while representing his country at Copa Ameriica. The 30-year-old was already due to have a three-week break after his international commitments - and Solskjaer is confident the injury will not extend that period. “I don't think Alexis's injury was too bad,” Solskjaer said in a press conference in Perth, where United have started their pre-season tour of Australia. “When he's due back is three weeks after his last game, so that will be just after we come back from tour. I would expect him to be fit enough to play straightaway and train straightaway.” United have a friendly against Kristiansund in Oslo on Tuesday 30 July and a clash in Cardiff with AC Milan on Saturday 3 August, before our Premier League campaign starts with the home match against Chelsea on 11 August.
