3 summer signings that could put Chelsea back in contention for the title

Premier League are currently postponed due to the Coronavirus outbreak. The pandemic gripped the football world over the last week. There are players and managers that tested positive for Covid-19. Premier League intents to return on Saturday, April 4. So taking the time, we are looking to 3 players whose arrival in the summer could put Chelsea back in contention for the title. Frank Lampard’s side are currently fourth in the Premier League with 48 points, three points above fifth-placed Manchester United. However, they are 32 points behind leaders, Liverpool. According to The Telegraph, the former England international was handed a £150 million transfer budget to spend on new players. The Blues have already signed Hakim Ziyech, who will move to England this summer on £37million deal. Here are three players Lampard should try sign to bring the Blues back into title contentions. Goalkeeper The most important department to make changes for the Blues is goalkeeping. They signed Kepa Arrizbalaga in the summer of 2018 for a whopping £72 million fee. However, the Spaniard hasn’t done much to live up to the price tag. Chelsea have been linked with Jan Oblak, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Andre Onana. Ziyech is hoping to persuade the Premier League club to bring Ajax team-mate to Stamford Bridge. The winger is close friends with Onana, who also wants a Premier League move. The Cameroon international would prefer a move to either Chelsea or Tottenham at the end of the season after five years with the Dutch giants, according to Daily Mail.
