Bayern Munich manager speaks out on James Rodriguez’s future amid talk of £3m move

Bayern Munich manager Niko Kovac has announced that James Rodriguez wants to stay in Germany, amid links to Arsenal. The 27-year-old is currently on loan at Bayern Munich from Real Madrid, but the Bundesliga champions are far from desperate to make the deal a permanent one. That could allow Arsenal to steal in and sign the playmaker, but only on the basis that Ozil departs the Emirates. However, Kovac appears to have shut down rumours of an exit for the attacking midfielder this month. "He wants to stay with FC Bayern, as he once said during a fan club visit, he is highly motivated and focused," Kovac said, as per the Daily Mirror ."He can always help us with his quality." Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic also played down suggestions that Rodriguez could be swapping the Allianz Arena for the Emirates Stadium. We will look at the second half of the season and we will draw the right conclusions,” he said, as quoted by The Mirror, in response to questions over whether or not they will sign Rodriguez permanently. "This is not Bayern’s style," he added. "If we decide to sign a player, then he also remains a part of Bayern."
