Mourinho: “Manchester United fans must match Liverpool backing”

Manchester United head coach Jose Mourinho has reiterated his call for the club's supporters to create a hostile atmosphere against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon. "Now is just a question of having a little bit extra in a match which for them means a little bit more," the 53-year-old told reporters during pre-match press conference. "It's for them that the match means something more. They have to make us feel that feeling we felt that at Anfield – we felt clearly for the Liverpool fans it was more than a match. "Now we play at home we have a huge percentage of our fans compared with Liverpool fans."

PSG eye Batshuayi

PSG want to sign Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi, according to L'Equipe. The Belgian, who signed from Marseille for £33m in the summer, is yet to start a Premier League game for Antonio Conte's side, making 12 sub appearances. The 23-year-old has scored three goals in four cup appearances this term.

Man Utd reject Lyon offer for Depay

Manchester United have rejected a transfer offer for Memphis Depay from Lyon. According to The Mirror, the French side offered for the 22-year-old midfielder price tag of £15m. Dutch attacking midfielder is expected to leave Old Trafford this month. He has played just one EFL Cup game and 20 minutes of Premier League football during this season Depay joined the Red Devils squad from PSV Eindhoven in 2015.

Ranieri will allow Schlupp to leave

Leicester City head coach Claudio Ranieri has revealed he will allow winger Jeff Schlupp to leave the club this month if another club can meet Leicester's valuation of him. The Italian added he can only keep two left-sided players in his squad and he is retaining Christian Fuchs and Chilwell. Crystal Palace had a £9.5m offer for Schlupp rejected this week, while West Brom had three bids turned down during the summer transfer window.

Morgan Schneiderlin joins Everton

Everton have completed the signing of Morgan Schneiderlin from Manchester United. Toffees have paid for the French midfielder an initial £20m fee that could rise to £24m. The 27-year-old has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with the Merseyside outfit. He will reunite with Everton head coach Ronald Koeman, who managed the defensive midfielder for one season at Southampton.

Fellaini signs new deal with Manchester United

Breaking news coming from Manchester, as Man United confirmed they have extended the contract with Marouane Fellaini. When signing from Everton on the final day of the summer transfer window in 2013, the Belgian agreed a four-year deal with the option of a further year. That has now been taken up, tying him to Old Trafford until at least the summer of 2018, the club announces. Fellaini is much valued by Jose Mourinho who initiated the contract extension which will see the Belgian playing for the Red Devils up until 2018.

Man Utd extend Marouane Fellaini contract

According to Daily Mail, Manchester United head coach Jose Mourinho has taken the decision to extend Marouane Fellaini's contract by a further year. The Belgium international had the option of an extra 12 months in the four-year deal signed when joining from Everton in 2013, which Mourinho is said to have already triggered. The 29-year-old scored a goal in the match against Hull City on Tuesday, and The Sun have said that he could be offered a fresh long-term contract should he impress over the coming months.

Schneiderlin closing on Everton move

Jose Mourinho told Sky Sports that Morgan Schneiderlin is closing in on a move to Everton. Speaking after United's 2-0 win over Hull in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final, Mourinho said: "Before the match I was informed by Mr Woodward that the situation is to close, so Morgan is more than probably going to Everton." Schneiderlin moved to Manchester United in 2015 from Southampton. The Reds paid €35 m for the French midfielder.

Mourinho unhappy with celebration of Juan Mata goal

Manchester United head coach Jose Mourinho has criticised his side for celebrating the opening goal during their EFL Cup semi-final victory over Hull City this evening. The 53-year-old specialist was unhappy with the team's first-half display and questioned why they celebrated breaking the deadlock when the match was still hanging in the balance. "In cup ties every goal can be crucial and why celebrate when you have half an hour to play? I don't think so. I think there is no reason for a celebration with the first goal," he told Sky Sports News.  

Schneiderlin on a verge of moving to Everton

Jose Mourinho has told Sky Sports that Morgan Schneiderlin is closing in on a move to Everton. Sky sources understand that the Toffees have agreed an initial fee of £22million for the Manchester United midfielder. Speaking after United's 2-0 win over Hull in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final, Mourinho said: "Before the match I was informed by Mr [Ed] Woodward that the situation is to close, so Morgan is more than probably going to Everton."
